Zest Cafe Ella

Delicious dinner including a mango lassi as desert. Very reasonable and directly next to the train line

Zest Cafe is a great place to stop for a bite to eat if you're coming down from Ella Rock. Plus, it's a welcoming shelter from bad weather. It's owned by a former marine and offers delicious food at very reasonable price. The curry was fantastic

If you’re walking to Ella Rock, I highly recommend stopping here for at least a juice! We stayed in the newly opened room by the owner, and it was truly an amazing experience. The room is beautiful, well equipped, and spotlessly clean. It’s right next to the railway line, so you can watch the trains go by while enjoying incredible views. Next door, they have their own restaurant. Breakfast was absolutely spectacular, and one evening we had dinner there, which was just as delicious. The service and hospitality were outstanding. I highly recommend this place!

Such a beautiful view has this cafe, the owner is a kind and nice person. I ordered vegetable noodles and banana rotti with honey, and I've never eaten better rotti than these. I'll come again for rotti

I really enjoyed my breakfast here! The service is amazing, the prices very good, you have a huge variety of sri Lankan breakfast items and they come very delicious! I tried Halapa, egg, honey and milk hoppers, each one recommendable. And on top you have a beautiful view

Every morning I woke up, I was looking forward to breakfast (I had accommodation in AirBnB next door and breakfast in Zest Cafe) Shakes are amazing and very inexpensive. Meals are very good as well. Never had a better Coco sambal(homemade). If you go to Elle’s Rock it’s right Side of the Railway and absolutely deserves a Stop. Everything is completely freshly cooked and owner is very helpful and nice. He takes good care of his guests. Also has a pretty view. Take the effort to find this place, absolutely worth it.

It was so delcious, the owner is very lovely Lady with her grandson cooking sri lankan specialties. The Environment/Ambiente is same - lovely and beautiful full of flowers. Looking to Ella Rock and their infamous rail road. While you enjoy your meal and fruit Juice there is good chance to the train pass.

We ate at Zest Cafe several times! amazing food, great curries, fresh mango lassi, and delicious milkshakes. Perfect spot to watch the train go by, especially after hiking Ella’s Rock. They also have a room right next to the cafe where we stayed, it was super comfortable and quiet. The views are beautiful, and the owner and his family are incredibly kind. Highly recommended!
